Over the last few months, Nuearth Co. has quietly been changing almost everywhere at once.
If we have seemed a little less active on social media, it is not because things have slowed down. Quite the opposite.
Behind the scenes, we have been developing new products, testing formulas, rethinking our market experience, improving our packaging, sourcing new additions, and working toward something that has been important to me from the beginning: making Nuearth Co. feel like one complete brand.
A lot of those pieces are finally coming together.
So instead of simply telling you that we have been busy, I thought I would show you what we have actually been building.
A New Kind of Vendor Experience
One of our biggest projects has been reimagining how Nuearth Co. shows up at markets.
Our original setup worked. We had tables filled with products, samples available, and someone there to guide you through the collection.
But as Nuearth Co. has grown, I have wanted the physical experience of the brand to grow with it.
I do not want you to walk up to a table and immediately feel like someone is waiting for you to buy something.
I want you to be able to walk in.
Look around.
Pick something up.
Smell it.
Read the ingredients.
Try something if you want to.
And take your time.
We are transitioning the booth into more of a small retail environment where the products are displayed throughout the space instead of lined across one table.
Tall wooden ladder shelves will allow the collection to live vertically, with different areas dedicated to discovery, sampling, inventory, and checkout.
We are also creating a hand-washing and product-testing experience, which has become especially important as we prepare to introduce our cream cleansers.
Some products simply make more sense once you feel them.
You can read about texture and lather, but actually applying a cleanser, adding water, and experiencing how it feels on the skin tells you something a product description cannot.
Checkout will also be separate from the main discovery space so that the entire booth does not feel centered around the transaction.
The overall aesthetic will remain very Nuearth Co.: warm wood, natural textures, linen, neutral tones, amber glass, and simple displays that allow the products to remain the focus.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable entering the space whether you are ready to purchase, simply curious, or just want to smell something beautiful.
I believe the products can speak for themselves.
Our job is to give them the space to do it.
Meet River and Stone
River and Stone have been two of our largest product-development projects this year.
They are Nuearth Co.'s first cream cleansers.
Rather than the big foaming experience you may expect from a traditional body wash, River and Stone are being created with a soft, creamy consistency and a gentler lather.
The formulas include ingredients such as chamomile and neroli hydrosols, aloe, plant-derived cleansing agents, jojoba, camellia oil, squalane, mango butter, cupuaçu butter, and panthenol.
The goal is simple: cleanse the skin without leaving it feeling stripped.
The formulas are similar, but their personalities are very different.
River
River is bright, fresh, and botanical.
Green mandarin leads the scent profile, followed by neroli and elemi, with benzoin and a touch of pink pepper adding complexity underneath.
It leans slightly more feminine, but like every Nuearth Co. fragrance profile, it is not created for one gender.
It is simply the lighter and brighter of the two.
Stone
Stone is warmer, deeper, and woodier.
Hinoki, cedarwood, palo santo, elemi, black pepper, pink pepper, and benzoin create a grounded scent with a more traditionally masculine lean.
But if you love Stone, Stone is for you.
We are now at the stage where much of the work is about refining the experience around the cleansers.
Texture.
Packaging.
Labels.
Dispensing.
And, importantly, how we teach people to use them.
Because cream cleansers are different from the heavily foaming products many of us are accustomed to, education will be part of the launch. We want you to understand not only how River and Stone smell, but what makes the cleansing experience different.
We Made Our First Bar Soap
This one still makes me smile.
Cold process soapmaking is something I wanted to explore for Nuearth Co. for a long time, but I was genuinely intimidated by the process.
Mostly because of the lye.
Soapmaking requires precision, preparation, protective equipment, accurate measurements, patience, and respect for the process.
So I researched.
And researched some more.
Then, on July 23, I finally poured our first batch.
Our second followed on July 28.
Those bars have now spent weeks curing, hardening, and becoming something we can actually evaluate rather than simply a fresh experiment sitting in a mold.
The bars are substantial, generally landing just shy of four ounces, and the scent profile is very different from the sweeter fragrances people may immediately associate with body care.
It is botanical.
Woodsy.
Fresh.
Slightly resinous.
And grounded.
The formula includes plant oils and butters along with clay and colloidal oatmeal, with an aromatic blend featuring bergamot, hinoki, frankincense, balsam fir, linden CO₂, and balsam of Peru.
And because this is our first soap, we are learning.
One of the biggest lessons has been scent performance.
A bar can smell beautiful and strong while dry and behave completely differently once water is introduced. We are paying close attention to scent retention, lather, hardness, longevity, and how the bar feels during actual use.
That is exactly why test batches matter.
The goal was never simply to say, “We make soap now.”
The goal is to make a Nuearth Co. soap that earns its place in the collection.
And this month, some of our first bars will finally begin making their way into customers' hands.
That feels like a pretty significant milestone.
Two Natural Sea Sponge Options Are Joining the Collection
As we built out the cleansing side of Nuearth Co., another question naturally came up:
What are you actually using with these products?
That led us to natural sea sponges.
We will be offering two different sizes.
The smaller sponge is ideal for more targeted or delicate use, while the larger sponge provides more surface area for bathing and pairs beautifully with a cleanser or bar soap.
Because they are natural sea sponges, no two are exactly alike.
Their shapes vary.
Their textures vary.
Their openings and contours vary.
And that is part of what makes them beautiful.
Once wet, they become incredibly soft and pliable, creating a very different experience from many synthetic bath sponges.
This was not about adding another product simply because we could.
It was about completing the experience.
If we are creating the cleanser and the soap, it makes sense to also offer a thoughtful way to use them.
The Collection Is Starting to Feel Complete
This may be the part I am most excited about.
When Nuearth Co. began, much of our collection focused on what happens after the shower.
Body butters.
Body oils.
Beard oils.
Mineral soaks.
Products designed to moisturize, soften, and finish your routine.
Now we are building out the beginning.
You can step into the shower with River or Stone.
Choose our botanical bar when you want a traditional soap experience.
Pair either with a natural sea sponge.
Then step out and continue with a body oil, body butter, beard oil, or whichever products make sense for you.
For the first time, it feels like we are not simply adding products.
We are creating a more complete body-care experience.
And after the cleansers and soap are fully introduced, we plan to pause on developing entirely new product categories for a while.
Not because the ideas have stopped.
They never do.
But because I do not believe Nuearth Co. needs to constantly create something new simply for the sake of newness.
There is so much value in refining what already exists.
Improving formulas.
Perfecting packaging.
Learning from customers.
And making every part of the collection exceptional.
The Labels Are Changing Too
While all of this product development has been happening, we have also been working on another major project: creating a more cohesive label system.
When you begin a handmade business, you create the best presentation you can with the knowledge, resources, and experience you have at the time.
Then you learn.
You understand packaging differently.
You notice how materials behave around water and humidity.
You become more intentional about spacing, typography, finishes, sizing, and how one product looks beside another.
Every Nuearth Co. release has taught me something.
Every market has taught me something.
And with time, the visual identity of the brand has become much clearer.
Now, I want you to be able to place River beside a body butter, beside Ethos, beside a beard oil, beside our soap and immediately understand that they belong together.
Not because everything looks identical.
But because everything speaks the same visual language.
As our current inventory sells through, you will gradually begin seeing the updated label system across the collection.
We are intentionally allowing existing packaging to sell rather than discarding perfectly good inventory simply to make everything change overnight.
As products are replenished, the new look will begin to appear.
And eventually, the website will evolve with it.
New photography.
Updated product imagery.
A more cohesive visual experience.
The Nuearth Co. you encounter online should feel like the same Nuearth Co. you experience in person.
The Work You Don't Always See
Of course, there is another side of entrepreneurship that does not photograph quite as beautifully.
The bookkeeping.
Inventory.
Receipts.
Purchasing.
Website work.
Research.
Planning.
Testing.
And all of the small operational pieces required to keep a business moving.
I am also a full-time corporate accountant, a wife, and a mom of two, so Nuearth Co. gets built in the spaces around the rest of my life.
And I love building it.
But I have also learned that building something well sometimes means deciding where my attention needs to go.
Some weeks that is social media.
Other weeks it is product development.
Sometimes it is accounting, inventory, or one of the many behind-the-scenes pieces that no one will ever see.
Lately, it has been a lot of all of the above.
So if we have seemed quieter online, that is really what has been happening.
Nuearth Co. has been growing behind the scenes.
So, Where Are We Today?
Today, our new vendor experience is taking shape.
River and Stone have moved from ideas into real formulas that we are refining and preparing to introduce.
Our first cold process soaps have been made, cut, cured, tested, and are beginning to make their way into the world.
Two natural sea sponge options are joining the collection.
Our label system is evolving.
Our website will eventually evolve with it.
And for the first time, the collection itself feels like it is beginning to tell one complete story.
From cleansing.
To bathing.
To moisturizing.
To the small moments of care in between.
We have been working.
A lot.
And now I am finally getting to one of the best parts:
Showing you what we have been building.
Thank you for being here while Nuearth Co. continues to grow into what I have always imagined it could be.
